VIDEO: The official premiere of Blue Rodeo’s "Mattawa/New Morning Sun" video!

Hot on the heels of their 25-year anniversary, Blue Rodeo is kicking things up a notch with the release of their 13th studio album alongside a sprawling Canadian tour, and we've got the first video off their latest album.

The video for "Mattawa/New Morning Sun," helmed by director Chris Mills, has a bit of a split personality: The video reroutes a number of times as the song shifts tone and melody. On the one hand, we find a black-and-white Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor driving through eastern Ontario and a man perusing records. On the other, the band jams in a studio in living colour and a colour-drenched-couple gaze intensely at each other.

For the LP, titled In Our Nature, the band decided to head up to singer Greg Keelor's farm. Initially, co-frontman Jim Cuddy believed they were recording demos but they ended up working on their album instead, with each member recording out of different rooms so as to control the sound of each instrument while still coming together as a cohesive unit.

"It was apparent right away that there were some very strong ties that were knitting everything together and that it was going to be a good vibe record,” said Jim.

In Our Nature is slated for release Oct. 29. In the meantime, check out their Canadian tour dates scheduled for next year and listen to a special preview of their album below!
