Avril Lavigne delivers powerhouse performance at the Q102 Jingle Ball

Avril Lavigne brought some holiday cheer and a megawatt performance to Q102’s Jingle Ball on Dec. 4, thrilling the crowd with a powerful rendition of her new single, “Let Me Go.”

Keeping it demure in a simple (and covered) black getup with her long blond tresses framing her face, the singer belted out the latest offerings from her fifth studio album – including the duet she co-wrote with husband Chad Kroger – as well as old favourites like "Girlfriend."

Audiences were so impressed by the Canadian crooner’s performance that the 29-year-old was later voted “greatest jingle ball performer ever” on the Q102 website, beating out Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry for the top spot.

Robin Thicke, Flo Rida, Fifth Harmony and Paramore’s Hayley Williams also performed for the event held in Philadelphia, which sees $1 from each concert ticket sold donated to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

Avril's husband Chad, who is on tour in South Africa with Nickelback, was noticeably absent, but the newlyweds are likely to reunite for the holidays.

“We don't go more than two weeks without seeing each other,” Avril has said. “Either I'm travelling or he's travelling so any time we have a chance to be at home together we're just so happy.”
