Miley Cyrus selects Madonna as her special guest for MTV 'Unplugged'

They’re two of the most controversial pop stars in the world, so it seems only fitting that 21-year-old Miley Cyrus and 55-year-old Madonna would join musical forces.

On Jan. 28, the pop stars performed their first-ever duet for a taping of Miley’s Unplugged special, which is scheduled to air tonight on MTV at 9 p.m.

Sticking their tongues out for the cameras, the divisive divas sang acoustic versions of “We Can’t Stop” and “Can’t Tell Me” wearing country-western outfits while dancing provocatively onstage.

“That was pretty cool you guys,” said Miley after the performance. “It was one of those days that was pretty easy to get out of bed. I get to perform with Madonna in bedazzled cowboy boots. I can't really complain about anything.”

Rumours of a guest appearance swirled after sources spotted Madonna rehearsing on a Hollywood soundstage with the former Disney star on Monday.

Following her Unplugged special, Miley kicks off her Bangerz tour February 14 in Vancouver.
