Miley Cyrus says Bangerz show will be ‘good for girls’

Polarizing pop star Miley Cyrus is giving fans a sneak peek at her upcoming Bangerz tour, which kicks off at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on Valentine’s Day.

The singer took to Instagram over the weekend to share photos from rehearsals, including one shot that shows the 21-year-old wearing a very tight leotard while dancing with a little person.

Another snap shows the "Wrecking Ball" singer wearing a glittery, American Flag-inspired one-piece and cowboy boots surrounded by similarly-dressed backup dancers.

Speaking during a teleconference call, the self-proclaimed feminist said of the upcoming concert: “I think there’s something good for girls especially that get to come and see the show… It’s just going to be a really good show and be a really powerful time in my life and I would love for people to come see that.”

The former Disney star, who recently teamed up with Madonna for her country-themed MTV Unplugged special, had previously explained her decision to open her highly-anticipated world tour on Feb. 14.

"Valentine's Day is usually one of the most depressing days of the year,” said the single singer, who had been engaged to Liam Hemsworth for more than a year before the couple called it quits in September. “I'm going to make it a really good one this year.”

The North American run of Bangerz will also visit Montreal’s Bell Centre on March 29 and Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on March 31.
