Michael Bublé opens up about fatherhood at a Sesame Street gala

Michael Bublé, 38, attended the Sesame Street Workshop’s 12th annual gala in May, and he couldn’t stop gushing about being father.

Michael considers himself a father first and a singer second:

“I love everything about the kid. Instead of being nervous like I used to be at events, I actually sit beforehand and say, ‘You’re Noah’s dad first, and all of this other stuff is just icing on the cake,” the “Home” singer told US Weekly.

He even has a cute nickname for himself, to really drive the point home.

“I am Mr. Diaper,” Michael exclaimed!

But fatherhood wasn’t always a life-changing experience for the Canadian crooner. Michael opened up about Noah’s birth on The Social in September 2013, noting, “I didn’t have that overwhelming feeling of love. I’m being honest with you, I’d heard all of these stories about how this moment was life-changing, but it wasn’t like that for me. I was nervous for my wife, and I was happy that he was healthy…but, that day, it was like meeting a stranger.”

The two are strangers no more it seems! Michael added in his recent interview, “I sing to him all day and all night. When he’s crying with somebody else and I hold him and I sing to him, he just stops. It’s really cool.”

Michael’s wife Luisana Lopilato gave birth to Noah on August 27, 2013, and since then the crooner’s child has been everywhere with the happy couple, including their date nights.

“He’s such a tranquil kid that we take him to movies and five star restaurants, and he doesn’t really make much noise. It’s great,” the Canadian musician proclaimed.
