Katy Perry has revealed that she wants to have children soon – but she isn’t waiting for a man to make her dreams of motherhood come true.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, the pop star revealed that her “five-year plan” includes having a baby, perhaps in three to five years time.
“I want to be doing that in the right time and that's not in the next two years, you know?” she said. “Maybe it's in a five-year plan, but I need to really be able to focus 100 per cent of my attention on it.”
When it comes to caring for little ones, Katy, 29, also added that she would want to take a break from touring to focus entirely on her baby.

“I don't really want to take the child on tour. Not until, like, birth through five is over,” she said.
Katy is currently single, having split from John Mayer earlier this year, but she sees no need to get hitched to have a child. Citing her friends Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, who had their children via a surrogate mother, Katy said: “I don’t need a dude. I mean, Neil and David, their twins are beautiful.”
She added: “It's 2014! We are living in the future; we don't need anything. I don't think I'll have to, but we'll see. I'm not anti-men. I love men. But there is an option if someone doesn't present himself.”
Katy broke up with John in February after nearly two years of dating and recently ended her month-long romance with DJ Thomas Pentz, aka Diplo. She was previously married to British comedian Russell Brand, but the pair split in 2011 after 14 months of marriage.
