Last fall, Rod Stewart celebrated the 50th anniversary of the launch of his first single “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl” and now the London-born rocker has more cause for celebration as he rings in his milestone 70th birthday.
With 29 studio albums and four live compilations under his belt, plus a world tour that is currently in Vegas for a short residency before heading Down Under, Rod is showing no signs of slowing down.
This would come as a surprise when you read what Rod has to say in our gallery about his one-time dislike of singing and performing in front of crowds. “I started singing for one person, then three, all the way to 40,000,” the icon stated in an interview with Redbook.
When it comes to birthdays, the “Forever Young” singer admits he doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about, saying, “My wife is trying to organize a big 70th birthday party and I’m trying to get out of it. Birthdays don’t mean anything to me. Birthdays come and they go and they don’t worry me at all.”
Hello! Online toasts the birthday boy by looking back at his chart-topping career, his family life and 10 fun facts that you need to know about the one and only Rod Stewart.
