After a year of controversy and legal battles, embattled pop star Justin Bieber finally seems to be on the mend. Not only has the Canadian singer apologized to fans for his “arrogant ” and “conceited” behaviour, but he seems to have done some serious soul-searching ahead of his milestone 21st birthday on March 1.
“Just being young and growing up in this business is hard. Just growing up in general is hard,” the young heartthrob said in a heartfelt video last month, and the young star from Stratford, Ont. would know.
At the tender age of 14, Justin stole the hearts of millions with his acapella YouTube videos and squeaky-clean image. Six years later, however, the singer was all grown up and facing some very grownup problems to boot.
Despite not previously addressing his behaviour, however, the 21-year-old pop sensation has recently expressed that he does care what people think about him and is determined to turn things around.
“I’m a person who genuinely cares. And although what’s happened in the past has happened, I just want to make the best impression on people and be kind and loving and gentle and soft,” he said.
As he celebrates his 21st birthday today – and an exciting new stage in his life – HELLO! Online looks back at the Justin's journey.
