After teasing some upcoming “exciting news” last week, Shania Twain has finally made her big announcement – she’s going on tour! The Canadian country music star confirmed the news on Good Morning America on Wednesday (March 4).
"I'm finally, after 11 years, going back on tour," Shania proudly told host Robin Roberts. "It's been a long time."

She added: "This is going to be a big tour for me because it's going to be my last. This is my last tour. I'm going to make the most of it. Let's put it that way."
Describing the Rock This Countrytour as a “celebration” and an “after-party,” the 49-year-old songstress explained the decision for embarking on a goodbye tour, saying she wanted to “go out with a bang.”
Shania also revealed that while she’s also working on new music for an album, she’s mostly focused on getting on the road.
“I’m into the making of my new album, so 2015 will be pretty much in the studio,” she told Hello! last fall. “I plan on doing more live dates, and that will be international, so I’ll be everywhere.”
This past December, Canada’s country queen said farewell to Las Vegas and ended her three-year residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace – an experience chronicled in her new CD-DVD combo, Still The One: Live From Vegas.
In the latest issue of Hello! Canada – which hits newsstands and is available on Next Issue this week – the cover star opens up about this exciting new stage.
“I wanted to do a summary of my life and career,” she says, explaining why she documented her Vegas experience. “I guess it was personal and professional therapy.”
Shania’s 50-date Rock This Country tour (she says 50 seemed appropriate, as she celebrates her milestone 50th birthday in August!) kicks off on June 5 in Seattle and includes stops in Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton. Tickets are expected to go on sale in the upcoming weeks.
