Members of Canadian rock band Nickelback have released a video sharing their sadness and regret over having to cancel the summer leg of their No Fixed Address tour. Guitarist Ryan Peake and frontman Chad Kroeger’s brother, Mike, have revealed that doctors found an operable cyst on Chad’s vocal chords that needs to be removed immediately, followed by an extended period of vocal rest. This is the latest health issue to hit the Kroeger family after Chad's wife, Avril Lavigne, was diagnosed with Lyme disease earlier this year.

“Sometimes these things happen but we need him to properly take care of his voice so that we can continue to play for our fans,” says Ryan. The Juno-winning band had two Canadians dates coming up, one in Quebec City on July 19 followed by a show on July 23 in Ottawa.
“I am sorry I have to interrupt the party this summer,” said Chad in an official statement. “I am definitely not thrilled with the prospect of being silent for many weeks to come when I could be out there playing for our fans.”
Chad supported Avril through eight months of debilitating symptoms before his love finally received the proper treatment for her illness. While recovering at home, the "Fly" singer has been in the recording studio with her husband working on new music. Just as they did with Avril's battle, the couple will surely face this new medical hurdle as a team and both will help each other get back into top singing form.
Before undergoing surgery in early July, Chad and Avril will celebrate their second wedding anniversary on Canada Day (July 1).
