Fresh off his four-trophy coup at the Much Music Video Awards on June 21, R&B singer The Weeknd has just been announced as one of the headlining acts taking the stage at this year’s Made in America music festival. Joining the Canadian singer at the two-day event over Labour Day weekend are Beyoncé and her husband, Jay Z – who founded the musical extravaganza in 2012.
A whopping 50 artists from the worlds of hip hop, pop, rock and R&B are set to perform for thousands of fans at Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including Nick Jonas, Death Cab for Cutie, J. Cole and actress Zoë Kravitz with her band Lola Wolf. Canadian rock band Metric is also on the bill.

Beyoncé’s performance at the festival will mark the first time she’s appeared in concert since wrapping her On the Runtour last September. The GRAMMY Award-winning singer has spent her time off travelling the world with her family, including three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy. Most recently, Beyoncé shared beautiful pictures of her daughter living la dolce vita in Florence and romantic snaps from an anniversary getaway to Hawaii.
The “Run the World” songstress caused a stir on social media earlier this month when she teased a big announcement that had fans excited about the prospect of a new album or tour. To the disappointment of many, the 33-year-old appeared on Good Morning America to promote healthy eating and the vegan meal delivery service that she launched in February with her personal trainer Marco Borges.
