If you’ve ever wanted to appear on stage alongside Céline Dion, now is your chance. In advance of the return of her Las Vegas show, Celine, on August 27, the Canadian songstress is asking fans to submit clips of themselves performing her hit song “I Drove All Night.”
A select number of the videos submitted will be included in a montage that will screen while she performs at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Video submissions are being accepted until July 25 on celineinvegas.com and, according to a press release, must include the following elements:
- • Shoot yourself in a recognizable place in your town.
- • Film your performance of “I Drove All Night.” You can sing live or lip sync, alone or with family and friends.
- • At the end of the clip, let go of a red balloon between you and the camera.
News of the 47-year-old’s return to the stage comes as her husband, René Angélil, is said to be “fighting very hard” for his life in a hospital outside of Boston. The My Heart Will Go On singer recently told the Las Vegas Sun that the 73-year-old’s health has been failing since he was diagnosed with throat cancer for a second time in 2013.
Her return to Las Vegas is at the behest of the ailing René,who also convinced her to take part in the recent Keep Memory Alive’s Power of Love Gala alongside Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
She told the paper: “ Rene wanted me to be here… The reality is hard, but we have the ticket to live today. Today, we’re alive, and we’re going for it.”
The mother of three sons – René Charles, 14, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 4 – recently shared a special Father’s Day message to her loving husband online.
“René, you are the best father a child could ever dream to have… And you are the best husband a woman could hope to share her life with.”
