Avril Lavigne featured on Nick Carter’s new album

Nick Carter might have missed out on the mirror ball trophy on Dancing With the Stars, but the Backstreet Boys singer is still flying high thanks to the release of his new solo album, All American, on Nov. 25. The 35-year-old star recruited friend and fellow singer Avril Lavigne to join him on the pop-rock anthem “Get Over Me.”

“Congrats to @nickcarter on the release of his new album #AllAmerican! Download it now and get our song #GetOverMe!!” tweeted Avril, who is also preparing to release an album of her own in 2016. The pop stars sing about a relationship turned sour after trust issues get in the way. “Now I got a stage five clinger. Tryna’ put a ring on my finger. Only want me because I’m a singer. Get over me,” sings Nick, to which the Canadian songstress counters with, “You broke in, stole my key. Got one made so you can watch me, even when I am asleep.”

Unlike his song, Nick is happily married to Lauren Kitt, with whom he is expecting his first child, a boy. The couple announced the gender of their new addition during a live broadcast of Dancing With the Stars. During the show, Nick even performed a special dance for his wife, who he calls his hero. An emotional Lauren chatted with Glamour magazine after the performance and expressed her surprise over her husband’s beautiful gesture. "I was flattered and shocked. It’s not often you hear someone’s husband say that their wife is their hero. It was extremely flattering.”
