Listen to this: New singles from Iggy Azalea and Bebe Rexha with Nicki Minaj
By Nicholas Jennings
Music can be a tough business for artists. If getting recognition and having your song playlisted in pop’s wildly competitive world isn’t difficult enough, there’s also the politics to put up with. Just ask Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea, who last year faced badmouthing from the likes of Erykah Badu and Macklemore. In the case of Bebe Rexha, the U.S. singer-songwriter was uncredited for her performance on David Guetta’s 2015 hit “Hey Mama,” a song she co-wrote. Instead, Nicki Minaj and Afrojack received the credit. “It’s tough hearing your voice on the radio, on a chorus, and knowing that people think it’s another artist,” Bebe said. This year is already shaping up to be a winner for Iggy and Bebe, who both have hot new singles out this week.
Iggy Azalea: “Team”
This electro hip-hop number from her forthcoming album
Digital Distortion, sees Iggy striking an unabashedly self-confident pose. “Baby I got me/And that’s all I need/Baby I got me/Only friend I need/Playing on my team,” she raps over a bass-heavy beat.
Further proof of Iggy’s new confidence comes with her bold cover shoot in Schön, in which the folks at the British fashion magazine have thoughtfully tweeted for Iggy fans everywhere to see.

Bebe Rexha: “No Broken Hearts” feat. Nicki Minaj
Although Bebe’s name didn’t appear on David Guetta’s “Hey Mama,” she makes sure that Nicki’s moniker is prominently credited on her own new single. “This is a star-studded collaboration,” Nicki giggles over the opening fanfare of Bebe’s song. “I’m Nicki Minaj, this is Bebe.” The song boasts a sultry bounce and an infectious freestyled refrain.
To show off her friendship with Nicki, Bebe tweeted a photo of the two gals in matching blond poses.
