Summer is heating up. With big album releases and even bigger world tours, artists like Duran Duran and Nick Jonas are looking to break out of the pack with guest vocalists on their latest singles. This week sees the legendary ’80s band team up with a young dance diva and one of pop’s new young turks join forces with an older hip hop star.
Nick Jonas: “Bacon” feat. Ty Dollar Sign
Think Nick Jonas is hating being single? Think again. Rather than feel sorry for himself following his breakup last year with Olivia Culpo, Nick is singing about his newfound freedom and being able to do whatever he wants — even cook bacon if he wants to — without any of the usual drama. Of course, bacon could also be a metaphor for something else, since in the song he also describes a woman as being “sizzling, white hot.” A sultry guest verse from Ty Dollar Sign makes the message a little more explicit.
Regardless, Nick took to Twitter to pronounce his unabashed love of those fried strips of greasy pork.

Duran Duran: “Last Night in the City” feat. Kiesza
The British pop band’s most recent album, Paper Gods, was praised as its best work since Rio. Already the group — singer Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, bassist John Taylor and drummer Roger Traylor — has thrilled fans with an initial single, “Pressure Off.” Now Duran Duran is back with a rallying cry to get on the dance floor. The infectious new single features Canada’s reigning dance queen Kiesza.
Currently on a summer-long world tour, which includes five Canadian stops in July and August, Duran Duran has taken the irresistible Kiesza with them to sing the anthemic song. The 27-year-old Calgary native shines alongside Mr. Le Bon.
