After the stars made a splash with their red carpet fashion it was time to pump up the jams at the 2016 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards.
From match-made-in-heaven pop duets to a friendly dance competition, this year's show was full of must-see moments. Here, we round up five of the night's best highlights.

The dance off
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis kicked off the show with a good old fashioned star-studded dance off. After the Seattle duo's backup dancers showed off their killer moves, the stage was set for Lilly 'Superwoman' Singh and Amber Rose to show everyone how it's done.

Nick Jonas's tribute to Orlando
The tragic shootings at Pulse nightclub were still fresh on Nick Jonas's mind when he accepted the award for iHeartRadio International Artist of the Year.
After thanking his fans, the 23-year-old addressed those affected by the tragedy, saying, "It's been a tough couple of weeks, a lot of hate and violence in the world, but it's moments like this where we can all come together and celebrate the good times and be full of joy and happiness."
Then came a special dedication. "I dedicate this to all the families and victims of the shootings recently. We love you and we have not forgotten."

Shawn's special treat for fans
It wouldn't be a MMVAs without a mesmerizing appearance by Pickering-native Shawn Mendes. The 17-year-old took the stage to perform his new single "Treat You Better" for the first time.
Judging by the audience's screams and outpouring of messages on social media, Shawn is treating his fans just right.

Shawn and Hailee's Mashup
The Canadian singer and Pitch Perfect star teamed up for the ultimate duet. Shawn, a native of Nelson, B.C., kicked off the performance with a beautiful rendition of his current chart-topper "Sound of Your Heart" before Hailee joined him onstage to perform her song Rock Bottom

Desiigner heats up Toronto
The blistering 27 °C temperature outside did little to quell the Brooklyn rapper's energy level. The 19-year-old worked every inch of the stage during his performance of his breakout hit "Panda" before taking his show to the fans by crowd surfing in the audience.
