Two of pop’s biggest female stars keep doing what they do best. New singles by Katy Perry and Britney Spears are by turns inspirational and hedonistic, with Katy promising to rise against all odds and Britney offering a fun and sexy dance-worthy number.
Katy Perry: “Rise”
Katy can always be counted on to provide an inspiring empowerment anthem. Just in time for the Rio Olympics, the “Roar” singer has released a new song guaranteed to push athletes or anyone doubting their abilities to triumph. “Oh, ye of so little faith, Don't doubt it, don't doubt it,” Katy sings over crashing percussion, “Victory is in my veins.”
Katy then took to Twitter to pump up the song’s “blood, sweat and tears” message and included her new accompanying video.

Britney Spears: “Private Show”
Britney has fans panting in anticipation of her new album, Glory, which drops Aug. 26. The “Oops!...I Did It Again” star has already released her “Make Me” video, featuring some serious beefcake flaunting their abs for her gal pals and a scene where Britney rewards one dude with a lap dance. For her second single, Brit keeps the heat turned up with lyrics about twerking and pole dancing.
The “Womanizer” singer is currently in good enough shape for any type of dance moves, judging by the bikini video she posted on Instagram.
