The second half of 2016 is shaping up to be a memorable one for Shania Twain. On the heels of accepting CMT's Artist of a Lifetime accolade on Oct. 19 in Nashville, the 51-year-old's illustrious career will be celebrated again, this time at the 11th Annual Billboard Women in Music Awards on Dec. 9.
"She's fearless in her career, following her own path and pushing the boundaries of the country music genre as she creates music that has proven to be timeless. She is revered in the industry and we are honoured to present the Icon award to her," said Janice Min, president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group, in a statement.

"What an honour," wrote the Timmins native on Twitter, "I live for music and thank all the fans that live for music too." Shania will be joined at the show by fellow honourees Halsey and Madonna, who will receive the Rising Star and Woman of the Year awards, respectively.
