Shania Twain is ready to make waves again in the music industry. The Canadian singer has announced that her latest single “Life’s About to Get Good” will be released in June followed by her new album in September. The news is sure to delight fans, who have been waiting 15 years to get their hands on a new LP from the country superstar.
The GRAMMY winner made the announcement during her appearance on Monday’s episode of The Voice. The singer made history on the hit singing competition series by being the first-ever fifth judge, and as a key advisor she shared some words of wisdom with the final twelve contestants. She also took to Instagram to declare to the world that she perform her new track at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California on Saturday (Apr. 29.)
In a press release on Tuesday (Apr. 25), the 51-year-old explained that she wanted to create a tune that both celebrated the negative and positive aspects of life.
“I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I'm not in the mood to write a 'feeling-sorry-for-myself' song.... You can't have the good without the bad. And that's what the song ended up being about,” the singer-songwriter said.
The Timmins native recently opened up to Entertainment Weekly about her strong work ethic when she hits the studio. “I’m a very focused person in the studio. It’s not like it’s not fun,” Shania explained, adding that she feels creatively fulfilled when recording new music. “The joy comes in watching the whole thing grow and getting locked into that creative mode — that’s so indulgent for me,” she exclaimed.
