Listen to This: New Singles from Shania Twain and David Guetta
By Nicholas Jennings
She's more than twice his age, but Shania Twain has at least two things in common with Justin Bieber: both are Canadian stars with hit singles out this week. Shania's song marks her return to the charts, while Justin, who's featured on David Guetta's new single, seems to be everywhere these days.
Shania Twain
"Life's About to Get Good"
Country's best-selling female artist of all time—the pride of Timmins, Ont.—is making a comeback, 15 years after her last album, Up! The first single from her new album, Now, due out in September, is an upbeat song about moving on from dark days to better times.
Shania once sang "she's not just a pretty face." But at 51, the pop icon still looks fabulous on Now's cover. Shania posted the cover on her Twitter page, showing herself looking glamorous in her trademark leopard skin.
David Guetta
"2U" feat. Justin Bieber
David Guetta is a proven hitmaker. The French DJ-producer has had a string of hits with various guest vocalists, including Usher and Nicki Minaj. But it's been a few years since he's had as surefire a hit as this tempo-shifting dance number. The sensuous quality of Justin's vocal has a lot to do with it, as heard in the video featuring lip-syncing models from Victoria's Secret.
When the song topped the charts, the 23-year-old Canadian superstar wasted no time in congratulating his partner on Twitter.
