Toni Collette may have four films lined up for 2018, but that hasn't stopped the Australian star from dipping her toes in the Canadian music industry! The Little Miss Sunshine star's latest project is a double music video for Canadian band Arcade Fire titled Money + Love.
The experimental group released the 13-minute short on Thursday (Mar. 15). Of the lengthy video, frontman Win Butler told NME, “The concept of a double video really appealed to us, we’d always loved songs being put together as A and B sides… and these songs seemed perfect together.”
The video features two of their hit tracks, “We Don’t Deserve Love” and “Put Your Money On Me,” off their latest album Everything Now. The music video begins with Toni explaining to the band that they’re going bankrupt and would be partnering with the Everything Now Corporation, who would be taking the majority of their earnings. The crew then appears to be running through a futuristic casino, after which they’re captured by the corporation and put in trademarked jumpsuits to continue playing their music.
Arcade Fire recently announced that they’ll be kicking off the Everything Now Continued Tour in July, with an additional six American gig dates, followed by a stint at Haven, a Copenhagen-based festival. For those vinyl-obsessed fans who can’t make it to these stops, the Montreal born band also announced some big news: they’ll be releasing their first album in record form this spring! They will also be performing during the Juno Awards broadcast on Mar. 25, which sees them vying for top honours in five categories.
