The ultimate Canadian dream team was spotted together again! Shania Twain and Celine Dion linked up after her Nov. 17 show in Las Vegas, one gig closer to the curtain call on her Caesar’s Palace residency. Naturally, the reunion is reigniting hopes that one day fans will finally hear a collaboration between the Canadian superstars.
Celine took to Twitter to share the friendly snap, which showed both of the style icons looking every inch the fashion mavens that they are. Shania, 53, oozed cool in an oversized, distressed denim shirt, a black top and matching leggings, while Celine was a golden girl in a metallic suit and lacy white button-up top. The duo showed off their megawatt smiles for the camera, and the tweet sweetly read: “So happy that Shania Twain came to my show last night! Good luck with the rest of your tour, Shania.”

But this isn’t a new friendship blossoming – the music legends go way, way back! At the 1997 Juno Awards, Celine and Shania were both honoured with the International Achievement Award, along with rock n’ roll goddess Alanis Morrissette , who sadly couldn’t be there to collect her prize. The singers stood on stage, hand in hand, and hugged each other multiple times, with Celine saying, “I love you,” and Shania responding, “I love you even more!” Six years later, the two posed for a snap backstage at the 2003 Billboard Music Awards. Clearly, there’s no competition between these two! When Shania was kicking off her own Las Vegas residency back in 2012, the “Up!” singer said that the last time she spoke to the French-Canadian icon the two chatted about their kids.
Celine, 50, is getting ready to say goodbye to Las Vegas in June and move on to a new adventure, while Shania is in the midst of a big comeback as she tours the world for her latest album, Now, until Dec. 22. Perhaps at some point next year their schedules will line up and fans of both stars will finally get the collaboration for which they’ve been waiting ever so patiently.
