Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger: Their love story in photos

The musical duo fell in love in 2011 while recording Avril's fifth studio album. After a whirlwind week in Paris, Chad proposed one year later, in August 2012. Here, the newly engaged couple are seen strolling the streets of Paris hand in hand. Photo: © Marc Piasecki/FilmMagic

In November, Chad celebrated his 38th birthday with his fiancée at the happiest place on earth: Disneyland. The happy couple, who were seen wearing Mickey ears and holding glowing Mickey balloons, arrived at the park late in the day to avoid being seen by fans and photographers. After taking a spin on rides like Space Mountain, Priates of the Caribbean and Hollywood Tower of Terror, the lovebirds watched the fireworks before calling it a night and heading home when the park closed. Avril caught everyone's attention when she arrived on the arm of her fiancé at the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards wearing a queenly black leather headpiece with metal spikes. The songstress went on to win Best International Video by a Canadian Artist for "Here’s To Never Growing Up" and performed a stirring rendition of the song, which was co-written by Chad. After releasing their duet, “Let Me Go,” the husband-and-wife team visited Sirius XM Radio, where they spoke to Howard Stern about life as a married couple. They also performed a rousing rendition of the song for the first time. Photo: © Taylor Hill/Getty Images

The video for "Let Me Go," also starring Chad, had a rather melancholy vibe, but the singers rewrote the final chorus so to reunite the song's tragic couple - not a surprise since Chad and Avril are very much in love! Photo: © Getty

Five days before Christmas, Chad came out to watch his wife sing at the Jingle Ball in Miami. Audiences were so impressed by Avril’s performance that the 29-year-old was later voted “greatest jingle ball performer ever” on the Q102 website, beating out Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry for the top spot.
