Margot Robbie wears necklace fit for royalty at the Oscars

By Sarah Kelsey

When walking the Oscars’ red carpet, the one thing you want to do is make a statement, and Margot Robbie did just that by wearing a necklace fit for royalty (literally!) at the 2015 Academy Awards. The Australian actress wore a bold, clavicle-grazing necklace that was originally fashioned for the Duchess of Windsor in the 1930s.

The zipper-style stunner, adorned with diamonds and sapphires, is set in 18-carat yellow gold. It paired perfectly with Margot's ethereal, black Yves Saint Laurent gown, which featured a plunging neckline and sheer sleeves.

The whole look was very sexy and sophisticated. To go along with the sartorial statement, the Focus star kept her makeup simple and her blond hair fashioned neatly in a bob. Her lips were painted an on-trend shade of rouge - a welcome return to colour after the glossy nude lips that dominated the GRAMMYs red carpet.

Of the vintage Van Cleef & Arpels piece, she told Ryan Seacrest, "This necklace is worth more than my life... I am very lucky to be wearing this."

Kelly Osbourne said of the look that it's "major Scarface," in reference to the famed mobster film in which Michelle Pfeiffer rocked a blond bob with similarly daring costumes.

The Wolf of Wall Street star was on hand at the 87th annual event thanks to her gig hosting the Academy’s Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Scientific and Technical Awards on Feb. 7.

Margot has several projects in the works and can next be seen in the films Tarzan, Suicide Squad and The Taliban Shuffle.
