While nervous stars are on their best behaviour at the Oscars as they anticipate some of film world’s top honours, the after-parties are a completely different vibe. Once the formality is over, Hollywood’s brightest stars kick their shoes off, let their hair down and celebrate late into the night.
Still in a state of shock after his Best Actor win for The Theory of Everything, loveable Eddie Redmayne – the man of the moment after the Academy Awards – attended the Governors Ball where he was snapped with his proud new wife, Hannah Bagshawe, as he gazed at the statue he promised to polish and wait on hand and foot.
Singer John Legend – who earlier had the audience in tears with his performance of Selma soundtrack tune Glory, and later accepted an Oscar for the song – enjoyed the evening with his beloved, model Chrissy Teigen, by his side. The smitten pair were caught on camera sharing a loving embrace as they mingled with other famous faces at the party.
And they weren’t the only couple to enjoy a tender moment – Channing Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum only had eyes for each other as they made their way up the red carpet to the Vanity Fair Oscars bash.
Julianne Moore was also on top form, having picked up a gong for her role in Still Alice, in which she stars as a woman diagnosed with early on-set Alzheimer’s. The actress made a classic peace sign for the camera when she was snapped in a sparking strapless dress, and later larked about with fellow actress Emma Stone as the two enacted a romantic clinch, with Julianne apparently leaning in for a kiss as she held onto The Help star.
Meanwhile, Nicole Scherzinger was having a blast with fellow former X Factor judge Gary Barlow at film producer Harvey Weinstein’s afterparty, and she posted a snap of her fun with the Take That star and other friends as they partied late into the night.
The photograph, posted on Instagram, was accompanied by the caption: “#latergram so much fun to share the stage with #GaryBarlow last night at the #weinsteinoscarparty #living #soblessed2sing”.
TV star Oprah Winfrey, meanwhile, enjoyed a moment with her very own golden statuette – in lego form.
