Which Oscar beauty will try Alice + Olivia's bouffant of curls?

Day two of my fashion week adventure had me at Alive + Olivia, where the star power almost outshone the fashion - and hair!

Anna Kendrick, Anna Sophia Robb and the Hilton sisters all showed up to scope out flirty dresses for future red carpet appearances, which had me pondering whether any of these young ladies would be as interested in test driving the out-of-this-world hair that Tresemmé celebrity stylist Matthew Curtis created backstage?

Or, for that matter, which other Hollywood starlets walking the red carpet at Sunday night's Academy Awards might want to be a tad adventurous on the hair front this year?

Truth be told, I was secretly thrilled when I saw the finished look. Why? Because it was very similar to the bouffant of curls (flat on top with overly teased curls starting a few inches from the crown) I wore to my wedding this past September.

While mine was an ode to the fall 2013 runway of Bottega Veneta, Matthew revealed backstage that he imagined "a dark fairytale, a quite innocent girl in this weird place" when creating the look. Not exactly the stuff weddings are made of, unless, like mine, your motto for the day is "big hair, don't care!" - or unless you're named Scarlett Johansson.

While the newly engaged star isn't nominated for an Oscar, her film Her is up for Best Picture and I think Scarlett is young enough, bold enough and fun enough to gives this look a try. What better way to accessorize a Dolce & Gabbana dress (one of ScarJo's favourite designers) than with a big nest of hair?

But a heads up to Scarlett if she plans to rock a look like this - speaking from experience, you need strong hands, a good brush and a high pain threshold to comb this one out the next day. Bonne chance!
