Amanda Redman - Biography
Born: January 12, 1959
Small screen fans will no doubt recognise Brighton-born Amanda as long-suffering-housewife-turned-lottery-millionaire Alison on At Home With The Braithwaites. The role is only one of many TV parts she's notched up since appearing on the scene in 1980, though. As well as lead parts in crime series New Tricks, gritty drama Honest, and school saga Hope & Glory, the actress has also filled cameo roles in Casualty, Taggart and Spender. Her most notable silver screen appearances include playing a retired gangster's moll in Sexy Beast opposite Ray Winstone, and portraying a football coach's wife in independent hit Mike Bassett: England Manager. Amanda has a daughter, Emily - who appeared as Amanda's on-screen daughter in At Home With The Braithwaites - from her marriage to fellow British thesp Robert Glennister, which ended in divorce in 1992.
