While the 2015 Golden Globes had some serious standouts on the red carpet, thanks to a wash of spectacular gowns and nature-inspired accessories, the Screen Actor's Guild (or SAG) Awards were less of an easy call in the red-carpet glamour department. Casts from big- and small-screen winners like Birdman, Orange is the New Black and Downton Abbey turned heads in every direction - and ours were spinning in circles!
The Hello! Canada offices are abuzz with chatter the day after a red-carpet event, as we share our opinions on the evening's best dressed - from TV newcomers to film favourites - and mentally enter new names into our personal lists of style icons.
As far as overlap goes, Keira Knightley and Emma Stone pop up on a few of our lists. The Imitation Game nominee Keira continued her pregnant parade of stylish ensembles in a deep purple, lace-laden gown by Canadian-born designer Erdem (represent!), cascading in lacy layers around her budding bump.
Emma Stone was surely inspired by her wardrobe in Broadway's Cabaret as she slipped into a Dior Haute Couture ensemble that paired a long tuxedo jacket with a completely sheer skirt - "the perfect marriage between menswear and lady-like tailoring," says our fashion and beauty editor, Ally Dean. This comes hot on the heels of her standout Lanvin jumpsuit at the Golden Globes, another Hello! staff favourite!
But there are also some unexpected additions to our lists, and a few fellas to round out the reviews (Matthew McConaughey's "playful but confident" blue jacket, anyone? Assistant photo editor Farzin Ghayour approves!).
From our writers to photo editors, we never tire of dissecting a red carpet - and sharing our favourite looks. See who made the cut by clicking through the gallery!
