When Vogue put Kate Upton on their June cover last year, I was thrilled to see someone larger than a sample size gracing the most coveted spot of the fashion tome, however at the time I didn’t really think of her style as noteworthy.
That all changed this month.
The Sports Illustrated model has a new role in The Other Woman and has been making the rounds on the red carpet with her co-stars Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann in tow. A trio of beautiful blondes is certainly something to write home about but it was Kate’s flawless styling that had me second-guessing my earlier assessment.
Starting with an ultra-fitted cream Christian Siriano midi dress at the Amsterdam premiere, the 21-year old beauty fully embraced her bombshell classification right down to the retro faux bob, nearly nude lips and fluttery lashes. The look was classy and sexy, a decidedly difficult task to master.
Next up was a stop in London where Kate channeled silver screen legends of yesteryear in a textured black A-line dress from William Vintage boutique. The asymmetrical neckline and nipped-in waist highlighted her stunning figure, while nude pointy pumps kept the look modern and not costume-y.
At the Munich premiere, Cameron’s shimmery Pucci number was no match for Kate’s fiery Fendi mini dress that showed off her legs for miles and perfectly matched her crimson lips. Kate owes her hairstylist a serious ‘danke schoen’ for that bombshell blowout with a deep side part.
And finally, is there any label sexier than Versace? At Sunday night’s MTV Awards, the star turned up the heat in a satin LBD by the Italian house that she vamped up with a pair of triple strapped Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, a deep mulberry lip and a smokey eye.
All in all, Kate is learning how to navigate the red carpet in the most stylish way possible and I can’t wait to see what else the glamazon brings to the table.
