We all know of the 'Kate effect,' but it seems the Duchess of Cambridge's young children Prince George and Princess Charlotte are having the same kind of impact on the fashion world. Designers including Amaia Kids, Trotters and Rachel Riley – brands which George and Charlotte have worn – have recently launched their spring/summer collections, and we can't help notice that some of their gorgeous pieces have royal links.

Charlotte's birthday cardigan sells out

Amaia Kids' new collection features some beautiful hand-smocked dresses in blue and pink. Seeing as Kate likes to dress her two-year-old in traditional frocks, we can totally see Princess Charlotte wearing at least one of these pieces from the 'Baby Girl' section. The Moohren Summer Dress retails at £110, featuring puff sleeves and a ruffled collar. It also comes with a matching bow, a favourite accessory with Kate. Not to mention the model bears a resemblance to her cherubic daughter.

Kate is also a fan of Trotters, where she stocks up on Prince George's smart shoes. The brand's new collection focuses on sweet dungarees and we all know Kate is a fan. Her son George was only eight months old when he was first pictured in navy boat-themed dungarees; he also has a pair of dungarees in pink and another in blue pinstripe. Trotters' new pieces feature soldier and boat motifs and retail from £37.

George's official birthday portraits from last year show the three-year-old wearing a jumper with a cute whale motif. The Little White Company released a sweater with a similar design of a whale for £30. And seeing that George is a fan of sailboats, we could see him rocking the brand's adorable blue knit cardigan featuring a pair of sailboats, available to buy for £34.

Kate also likes to shop at Marylebone-based store Rachel Riley. The childrenswear brand continues to stock items that George has worn, such as the white shirt and red shorts combo he used for Charlotte's christening. Fans of George's look can purchase the same outfit for £85, also available in navy. A spokesperson for the shop said: "The Prince George items continue to sell really well which is why Rachel has kept them permanently in the collection." We also spotted a sailboat button coat, a classic double breasted piece that features a corduroy trimmed collar and pockets. The £119 piece is similar to the grey formal coat George wore at Christmas last year.
