Princess Eugenie may be royalty, but the Queen’s granddaughter tries to lead as normal a life as possible. After completing a three-year combined honours degree at Newcastle University, the outgoing younger sister of Princess Beatrice found work as a benefit auctions manager for the online auction house Paddle8 in New York City in 2013.
While Eugenie was only meant to stay for a three-month placement, the hardworking brunette landed a permanent role after impressing her bosses. Having moved to Manhattan a few years ago, Eugenie is said to be "making the most" of her time in the Big Apple.
Indeed, the stylish royal has become a regular on the city's vibrant social scene, sitting front row at New York Fashion Week and attending charity galas and high-profile events. At work, however, Prince William’s cousin is reportedly known as Eugenie York, ditching her royal title in favour of something more approachable.
March 23 marks a very special occasion for the princess, who celebrates her 25th birthday on Monday. She’s expected to fête the milestone privately with friends and family, where she will likely be reunited with her long-term boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank. The couple, who have kept their five-year relationship going despite Eugenie's move to America, seem to be in it for the long haul, with royal watchers crossing their fingers in hopes of a proposal.
No doubt, big sister Princess Beatrice will be in attendance for her younger sibling's birthday, as she, too, recently moved to New York City. Eugenie has previously spoken about how close she is to Beatrice, 26, saying: "We get on fantastically well, perhaps because we do and think differently.
"Like all sisters, we have silly arguments about unimportant stuff, but we do love each other to death."
