Queen Rania of Jordan is known for her kind heart, passionate advocacy and charming personality, and it appears that her daughter, Princess Iman bint Abdullah, has inherited all of her mother’s admirable qualities – plus her stunning good looks. Now that she’s 18, Iman is taking on a more public role in Jordan’s royal family, joining her mother at various engagements, including the recent Medef Summer University Conference in France.
The princess, who is the daughter of King Abdullah II, is currently on summer break from her studies at Georgetown University in Washington.
In an impassioned speech, Iman's mom shared an important message about the importance to fight against the "diabolic ideology" of extremists. This is one of the many times she's spoken out on the issue, showing where she stands on the current situation in the Arab region. As she has done over the years, Rania focused on the youth of her country, saying some 100 million jobs must be created in the region by 2020 to avoid disaffected young people from joining the ranks of jihadists.
Along with taking a lead when it comes to representing her country, Queen Rania proved she's a fashion leader as well. She looked regal in a cream knee-length dress, pale pink Kate Spade bag and nude heels, while her 18-year-old mini-me donned similarly muted cutout booties and a white dress with a red pattern around the waistline.
This is the second appearance the twosome has made recently. They visited a cafe on Aug. 16, in the historic district of Jordan's capital city, Amman, where they met with the members of event-planning organization Out & About. Their sighting sparked comments around the world about the casual-chic pair looking more like sisters than mother and daughter.
As the twosome spends more time together serving their country and dazzling fashion fans, and Queen Rania turns 45 on Aug. 31, we look back on the mother-daughter duo through the years. Click any image to see the gallery.
