Princess Sofia of Sweden looks the picture of royalty in a newly released portrait, which features the beautiful brunette in a pale-blue lace gown with matching sash. The final touch? The spectacular diamond- and emerald-encrusted tiara the 31-year-old princess wore at her 2015 wedding.
In the portrait, Sofia wears the Royal Family Order of King Carl XVI Gustaf, her father-in-law, along with the blue Order of the Seraphim sash.
Surprisingly, the stylish royal was recently voted 2015's Hillbilly of the Year, an honour that seemed to satisfy the elegant princess. Sofia graciously accepted the distinction, saying, “I feel honoured and flattered."
The beautiful brunette's radiant glow is no surprise as she's expecting her first child with husband Prince Carl Philip this spring. The couple has revealed that they won't find out the sex of their baby, opting instead to have it "be a surprise,” said Sofia. She also said that she's trying not to listen to too much advice (though her sisters-in-law, moms Princess Madeleine and Crown Princess Victoria, will surely be keen to offer words of wisdom whenever needed.)
The newlyweds announced their pregnancy in a statement back in October, saying, "We are so happy and excited to announce that we are expecting our first child. We are very much looking forward to it."
Since the joyous news, Sofia has not slowed down her royal duties. On Thursday, she showed off her growing baby bump at a graduation ceremony for students at Sophiahemmet University College in Sweden. The expectant mom, who was appointed honorary president of Sophiahemmet, presented nurses of the school with the university's traditional brooch.
