Details revealed in Kate's digital guest editor role

The Duchess of Cambridge is shedding light on the mental health of young people by joining the Huffington Post UK for a day as guest editor on Feb. 17. Kate will work with the online news team in a temporary newsroom set up at Kensington Palace.

The 34-year-old will help to launch Young Minds Matter, a new initiative that will discuss the problems, causes and solutions to the stigma surrounding the UK's mental health problem among children. Ahead of her day working for the site, Kate has already helped to commission a series of articles, blogs and videos from several leading figures in the mental health sector with whom she has previously worked.

The Duchess of Cambridge will guest edit The Huffington Post UK on Feb. 17.

The content will also draw attention to the inspiring work being done by parents, teachers, young people and researchers around the country. It will be released on The Huffington Post site throughout the day using the hashtag #YoungMindsMatter, and aims to inspire families and teachers to discuss mental health with children and young people.

During her guest edit, the mother of two will discuss the content of the articles with the reporters and authors, and will also take part in the planning process for when the material will be released throughout the day.

Kate is also expected to release a video message to support Children's Mental Health Week.

It has also been reported that Kate has recorded another video message to coincide with Children's Mental Health Week, which runs from Feb. 8 to 14. The duchess, who is a patron of children's charity Place2Be, is expected to address this year's theme in her message – building resilience and teaching children to "bounce forward" from life's challenges.

Kate recorded a similar video message to mark the event in 2015, in which she called upon fellow parents to speak openly with their children, who may be suffering from mental health issues.
