Princess Sofia of Sweden looked gorgeous on Friday evening (Feb. 19)as she showed off her growing baby bump in a form-fitting pink dress. For the formal event in Stockholm the princess, who is set to give birth to her first child in April, was accompanied by her husband, Prince Carl Philip.

Princess Sofia showed off her baby bump in a fitted pink dress.

The brunette accessorized her look with a suede envelope clutch bag and nude pumps. The 31-year-old was more than happy to show royal fans a glimpse of her bump as she posed for photos and greeted guests at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts.

The pregnant princess has been keeping herself busy in the run up to the birth of her first child. Two weeks ago Sofia joined her sister-in-law Crown Princess Victoria at an official dinner hosted at Sweden’s Royal Palace.

Sofia was joined at the event by her husband Prince Carl Philip and mother-in-law Queen Silvia.

The former model dazzled in a floor-length gold sequinned gown and brooch, accessorized with a sash and the diamond-and-emerald-encrusted tiara that was designed especially for her wedding day in June.

Princess Victoria looked equally stunning in a long embellished lace gown. The 38-year-old beamed as she entered the palace arm-in-arm with her husband Prince Daniel. The heir to the Swedish throne has officially begun her maternity leave as she enters the final weeks of her pregnancy.

Both princesses are set to give birth in the spring.

On Friday the princess cancelled her annual March 12 "Name Day" celebrations. The announcement was made on the royal family’s official website and revealed that the expectant mum is now currently enjoying maternity leave near her home at the Haga Palace.

Although a specific due date has not be released the royal family have revealed "the birth is expected to take place in March."
