Kate's plans for Easter weekend with George and Charlotte

The Duchess of Cambridge is set to spend Easter weekend on mom duty, celebrating with Prince George and Princess Charlotte as her husband Prince William attends a wedding in Kenya. Kate is most likely to celebrate not only with her brood but also her side of the family, the Middletons.

A royal source confirmed to HELLO! magazine: "The Duchess of Cambridge will be spending the Easter weekend with her children."

It is thought that Kate, 34, will spend the weekend at her parents Carole and Michael Middleton's home in Berkshire.

Her younger sister Pippa Middleton and younger brother James may travel from London to join the Duchess.

The celebration will no doubt be a particularly special one for Kate. It is her daughter Charlotte's first Easter holiday and George, who turns three in July, is at the stage where he will be able to take part in traditional celebrations like an Easter Egg hunt.

Meanwhile, Prince William is in Kenya on a private visit to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta. Kensington Palace released a statement earlier this week, confirming that the meeting is taking place at the request of Her Majesty's Government and will focus on the relationship between the United Kingdom and Kenya.

However, the rest of his visit is a private one and William is likely to attend the wedding of his former flame Jecca Craig. The pair briefly dated as teenagers, before William met his future wife Kate at university.

This will be Princess Charlotte's first Easter celebration

While the Duchess spends Easter with the Middletons, other members of the royal family will join the Queen at Windsor Castle.

Her Majesty traditionally celebrates with Prince Philip and other senior royals including the Countess of Wessex and her grandchildren Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. In recent years, Prince William, Kate and Prince Harry have not spent Easter with the Queen.
