The Duchess of Cambridge's most memorable walkabout moments

The Duke and Duchess stepped out in Oslo with the Norwegian royal family to do a walkabout on Thursday afternoon. Prince William, who was walking with Princess Ingrid Alexandra, 14, wished a woman in the crowd happy 50th birthday and says he’d already spoken to another woman who is also 50 today. He joked: "You’re 50 too? You should hold a joint party."

Excited crowds greet the Duchess of Cambridge everywhere she goes, from hospital visits in England to official royal tours of Canada and Australia. Kate loves to stop and chat with well-wishers, especially children who are eager to present the mother of two with a fresh bouquet of flowers.
And while the duchess loves talking away with everyone she meets, it's become the source of some good-natured family jesting. “There’s a real art to walkabouts, everybody teases me in the family that I spend far too long chatting. I still have to learn a little bit more, and to pick up a few more tips, I suppose.” Here is a gallery of walkabout moments that prove Kate is doing just fine.

Kate made some new friends at Mitchell Brook Primary School in north west London on Feb 6. The mother-of-two spent time chatting and giggling with school pupils before attending an assembly to kick off Children's Mental Health Week.
