President Barack Obama and his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama visited Princess Charlotte's home in April, and although the princess was fast asleep as the couple dined with her parents, they left her a gift for her birthday of a jigsaw puzzle and a toy dog similar to the one they gave to Prince George on her birth.

Prime Minister David Cameron gifted the princess with a copy of classic Hans Christian Andersen Fairy Tales, while the Prime Minister of Canada also gave the princess a book along with a snowsuit and an incredible $100,000 donation in her honour to Immunize Canada.

Pippa Middleton made the unusual choice to give her niece a set of biodegradable diapers made from natural mull cloth. However, the princess's grandad Prince Charles went with a more traditional approach, gifting his only granddaughter with a willow rattle made in Ireland.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand gave the princess Stansborough woollen teddy bears, baby blankets and bootees, while the Australian government gave a similar present of a blanket made from Tasmanian merino wool.

The King and Queen of Bhutan gave both Princess Charlotte and Prince George handmade coats during their parents' tour of the country, while President Xi Jinping of China gave Charlotte a set of silk figurines during his visit to the UK in October.

The family have been celebrating Princess Charlotte's birthday at their home in Norfolk, which is also where Kate photographed her daughter for her official birthday photos.

The four pictures released to the public show the princess playing in the living room and garden of her Anmer Hall home while dressed in two adorable outfits; a pink dress and matching cardigan and a blue flower print dress with a white cardigan.
