Royal Nicknames: See which pet names the British royals use for each other

When Princess Beatrice turned 31 earlier in August, Princess Eugenie celebrated her milestone in an Instagram post in which she let silp one of her nicknames for her sister.
"You have been bossing it since before I was born and continue to be the most wonderful person, friend and big sister... Happy Birthday to you Beabea!!" she wrote.

In December, Duchess Kate revealed the sweetest nickname for her daughter, Princess Charlotte! While the duchess was with her two eldest children at discount store The Range, a fellow shopper overhead her speaking to Charlotte.
Sarah Daniels told the Daily Mail that the little princess at one point sat on the floor, prompting Kate to tell her: "Get up, poppet." It's a nickname that Prince William is also known call his wife and Prince George, too.

Royal fans around the globe are enamoured with the Cambridge family... and you can just imagine how overjoyed they were to learn of Prince George and Princess Charlotte's nickname for dad, Prince William!
While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were paying their respects to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and the other victims of a tragic helicopter crash in 2018, one volunteer got to chat with them and shared the experience.
"Kate said that William was playing football with the children last night and one of them said, I think it was George, 'Are you playing football tomorrow, Pops?'" the volunteer said.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will have a special moniker to teach Archie Harrison: the name they call Prince Charles!
According to Robert Hardman, royal author and correspondent for the Daily Mail, the royal children call him "Grandpa Wales"! This is especially sweet as the Queen called her grandfather George V "Grandpa England."

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were posing for a group photo with the cast of Hamilton, Meghan let slip a sweet nickname she has for her husband. Worried that she was blocking him in the photo, she asked, "Can you see, my love?"
After the actors fawned over the heartfelt moment, both Meghan and Harry looked a little embarrassed before sharing a laugh with the cast.

On Princess Beatrice's milestone 30th birthday, the Duchess of York revealed the quirky nickname she something calls her eldest daughter: Trixie Belle!
"Happy birthday my Trixie - Belle so proud of you xx" she wrote on Twitter and Instagram alongside a series of throwback photos of her daughters.

During their interview with British Vogue, Princess Beatrice revealed the nickname she uses for her sister, Princess Eugenie.
"Euge is amazing. She's a very modern bride," she said.
(Their mother, the Duchess of York, adds one more letter to the nickname, calling her youngest "Eugie.")
The royal, who was then a bride-to-be, then referred to her Maid of Honour as "Bea."

CTV anchor Lisa LaFlamme discovered another of Prince Harry's nicknames when she interviewed him at Kensington Palace in 2017 ahead of the Invictus Games in Toronto. It seems his friends call him "Potter," so surely the prince was right at home in 2013 on a visit with Prince William and Duchess Kate to the young wizard's Warner Bros. home.
"The title that caught my eye was the same one the Prince's communications director promptly put away - a picture book about Harry Potter. To his friends, 'Potter' is the Prince's nickname but apparently not something Palace PR would want to distract from our interview."

Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, Meghan's friend and former agent, let slip her sweet nickname for Prince Harry, "Haz."
And while attending a reception for his beloved Invictus Games, the duke was heard calling out for "Meg."

During a day out at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2016, Prince William and Duchess Kate were overheard referring to each other as "darling" and "babe."

As a young girl at St. Andrew's School in Berkshire, Kate was nicknamed "Squeak."
She explained how the name came about while on a visit to the school years later.
"I was nicknamed Squeak just like my guinea pig," she said. "There was one called Pip and one called Squeak because my sister was called Pippa and I was Squeak."

Prince Harry revealed that Princess Diana used to call Prince William "Wombat." The Duke revealed the origins of the moniker in an interview.
"It began when I was two. I've been rightfully told because I can't remember back that far," he explained. "But when we went to Australia with our parents, and the wombat, you know, that's the local animal."
