Speaking to People, the 35-year-old states that when she met Kate, who was clad in a sunny yellow Roksanda Ilincic dress, she knew she wanted to take a picture with the glamorous mother of two. "But then I was like, 'Should I do a picture or a Snapchat video?' Obviously, I opted to do that and it was fun!” she added.
Reflecting on her brush with royalty, the 22 Grand Slam title winner only had good things to say about Prince William's wife. “She was super sweet, super level, so beautiful. She was really nice.” she told the publication.
Serena also revealed that she caught Kate off guard when she commented on her iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring. "She was surprised that I asked her about her ring and she was like, 'You know?’ And I’m like, 'Everyone in America knows about your ring!'" she recalled, adding that the duchess replied, "Wow!"
Following her victory at Wimbledon, the athlete took to her Facebook account to share photos from her exciting time in London, including a photo of herself and the British royals. “I had so much fun this past 2 weeks,” Serena attached to the uploaded images. “Winning my 22nd grand slam title is something I will forever cherish.”
