The Duke and Duchess were greeted by French President Francois Hollande.
It was no doubt a poignant trip for William, who was visiting Paris for the first time in his official capacity as a royal. The Duke has previously visited the French capital since his mother Princess Diana’s tragic death 20 years ago, but this was his first time with Kate in their royal roles.

On Saturday morning, the couple paid an emotional visit to Les Invalides, where they met with a number of survivors of the Bataclan and Nice attacks.
Les Invalides was created in 1670 by King Louis XIV to care for veterans and those injured whilst fighting for France, and continues to support veterans with its rehabilitation programmes. The site is also being used to support victims of the recent France attacks.
