Glittering tiaras and exquisite ball gowns: All the pictures from King Harold and Queen Sonja's birthday celebration

Queen Sonja and King Harald’s joint 80th birthday celebration was a royal affair to remember.
A parade of royals from across Europe flocked to Norway for the two-day festivities, which kicked off with an ultra-glam gala dinner at the palace on May 9.
On the second day of the birthday affair, the royal couples braved the rain to attend a banquet at The Opera House in downtown Oslo. The weather did little to damper the spirits of the fashionable set, who swapped their tiaras and ball gowns for less formal, yet still fancy, frocks.

On day one of the celebration, the King and Queen were joined by their family on the balcony ahead of the banquet dinner held at the palace.
The monarch's son Prince Haakon and daughter-in-law Princess Mette-Marit sang along with well-wishers and their relatives to the country’s birthday song, "Hurra for Deg."
During the melody, Haakon and Mette-Merit danced out the lyrics of the song that states: “We all stand around you in a ring / And look, now we’ll march / Bow, nod, curtsy, we turn around / Dance for you and hop and skip and jump / Wishing you from the heart all good things!”
