Earlier in the day, the Queen officially welcomed Spain's King Felipe and Queen Letizia to the UK for a three-day state visit.

While her husband accompanied the British monarch, Queen Letizia rode in the carriage with Prince Philip.

The British monarch and her husband Prince Philip personally greeted the Spanish royals at Horse Guards Parade in London on Wednesday morning.

With pleasantries exchanged, the Guard of Honour gave a Royal Salute as the Spanish Nation Anthem rang out. King Felipe, accompanied by Philip, then inspected the Guard of Honour, which was the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. Following the inspection, the guests joined the Queen and the Duke for a state carriage procession along the Mall to Buckingham Palace.

After enjoying a private lunch at the palace, Felipe and Letizia accompanied the British royal family for the viewing of Spanish items on display as part of the Royal Collection. Once inside, Prince Philip showed off some of his favourite pieces from the collection.

Felipe and Letizia, who arrived privately in the UK at Luton Airport on Tuesday, were met at their London hotel by Prince Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall. Together the quartet then travelled to the Whitehall parade ground in a carriage, to be met by the Queen and the Duke.

She's been praised for her fashion-forward style and dubbed Spain's Duchess of Cambridge, so it was no surprise that Queen Letizia looked incredibly elegant as she kicked off the first day of her UK state visit on Wednesday. The Spanish queen was a ray of sunshine in a bright yellow coat dress. To accessorize, she opted for a matching yellow hat.

After impressing the British crowd in a fashion-forward yellow ensemble, Queen Letizia once again looked sensational as she and her husband King Felipe headed to Clarence House on Wednesday afternoon. Dressed in a tailored burgundy coloured coat, the Spanish royal looked the epitome of elegance. The military-inspired number, complete with a statement belt, flattered her slender curves perfectly.
