Sounds like a royal engagement is just around the corner! According to reports, Prince Harry took his girlfriend Meghan Markle to Buckingham Palace on Oct 12 to have tea with his grandmother, the Queen.
The Daily Mail claims that the royal and the Suits actress reportedly arrived in a Ford Galaxy for their discreet meeting in the monarch's private sitting room. Royal correspondent Richard Kay noted that the teatime meeting “was deliberately informal.” He explained, “In part it was to settle any nerves Meghan might have felt but also to ensure it was not widely publicized within the palace.”
Richard also reported, "Harry, I understand, was introducing his American actress girlfriend to the Queen." Meghan has reportedly already met the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. When it comes to a possible engagement, friends of the couple, according to Richard, have said, "It is not a question of if but when."
Meghan, 36, and Harry, 33, made their first official joint appearance last month at the Invictus Games in Toronto. The pair couldn’t hide their love as they arrived to a wheelchair tennis match holding hands. Princess Diana's youngest son also spent quality time with his girlfriend's mother Doria during the games' closing ceremony.
Meghan declared her love for Her Majesty’s grandson in an interview with Vanity Fair. "We're two people who are really happy and in love,” she said. “I'm sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time.”
