Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's romance will be the subject of a new Lifetime movie! Titled Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story, the film will follow the royal relationship from the first day they met to their whirlwind courtship and engagement - including all the media attention that came with it last November. The Royals director Menhaj Huda is signed on to direct the project, which is set for a 2018 release.
Speaking about directing, Menhaj tweeted: "Harry & #MeghanMarkle TV Movie @lifetimetv - So excited to be helming such an inspirational love story of our time." Twitter users had a mixed reaction to the news, with one writing: "Good grief! Maybe it's going to be just fiction since there's really nothing to tell yet lol," while another added: "I bought the Will and Kate film from @lifetimetv. So, I'm highly anticipating this one. Thanks for sharing the news."
This isn't the first time Lifetime have based a film on the royal family; William & Kate: The Movie, was released just a few days after the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding in 2011. Prince Harry and Meghan announced their engagement in November 2017, with Clarence House releasing a statement on Twitter which read: "His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle's parents. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace."
