As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s big day gets closer, the former actress is quickly ticking all of the pre-wedding activities off her list. With her baptism still to come, Meghan is said to have had her bachelorette party this past Sunday (Mar. 4) – and it sounded like a cozy, chic affair! According to E!, the 36-year-old celebrated the special occasion at the trendy Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire, a county in south east England. Alongside one of her close friends and potential matchmakers Markus Anderson, a consultant with the Soho House Group, a source says the afternoon was “a relaxing day of good food and pampering.”
Two people close to Meghan had to miss the festivities. Her mom, Doria Ragland, was back in Los Angeles, while future sister-in-law Duchess Kate is currently pregnant with her third child and was likely resting up at home between royal engagements. During a walkabout in Edinburgh, the Suits alum treated a few eager fans who asked about her “hen party” to a small tidbit. Meghan didn’t let too many details slip, but promised them it would be “fun.”
One event that her family won’t miss is Meghan’s baptism into the Church of England. According to The Sunday Times, Meghan has requested that the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, perform the religious ceremony.
With their May 19 nuptials just around the corner, information about their star-studded guest list is sure to emerge. HELLO! can exclusively reveal the first famous invitees: Meghan’s former Suits costars. "The cast has been contacted in regards to invites from Kensington Palace," said an insider, adding that guests likely to attend the wedding include Suits actress Abigail Spencer, actress Priyanka Chopra and tennis star Serena Williams.
The bride-to-be and her future husband also want to help admirers feel involved in their big day, so they’ve graciously opened up their invite list to the public – and not just on live broadcast television. A lucky 2,640 citizens will receive special access when the couple ties the knot. The exciting information was shared in a statement from the Palace: "Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have said they want their Wedding Day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too. This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters and values of the Bride and Groom."
