And baby makes five! Royal watchers are celebrating today as Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband Chris O’Neill officially welcomed their third baby into the family – a gorgeous baby girl. In a statement from Swedish royal court, the new princess was born on Friday, March 9 at 1 a.m., and weighed 7.4 lbs.

Proud father Chris released his own statement on behalf of his family, in which he expressed his delight over the arrival of his baby girl. “We are thrilled about the new addition to our family. Leonore and Nicolas are looking very much forward to finally meeting their new little sister,” stated the 43-year-old. Though the baby’s name has not been officially released, there’s no doubt that Princess Leonore, 4, and Prince Nicolas, two, will be amazing big siblings.

The royal couple opted to keep with tradition and have their baby in Sweden – as opposed to London where they currently reside. The new princess was born Danderyd Hospital, where both of her siblings and other royal babies, like Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia’s two sons, were born.

The excitement is not over yet! The royal court will soon release official portraits of the young princess and in keeping with royal tradition, Madeleine’s father King Carl XVI Gustaf will announce the baby’s name and title in a court meeting on Monday morning (March 12). In celebration of the exciting time, a royal gun salute will be fired at midday on Friday from the Skeppsholmen battery in Stockholm.
