The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcome a baby boy

The "Great Kate Wait" has officially come to a close! Prince William and Duchess Kate welcomed their third bundle of joy – an adorable baby boy – on Monday (April 23), St George's Day. The little prince was born at 6:01 am EST, weighing in at 8lbs 11oz. Kensington Palace took to Twitter to share the exciting news with eager royal watchers, tweeting: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

It's an exciting time for the Royal Family, and especially for Prince George and Princess Charlottewho are now big siblings to their little brother! Also part of the excitement is the fact that Kate's sister, Pippa Middleton, is also pregnant with her first child, meaning the two little ones will be very close in age as they grow up together. Now, fans of the British royals are waiting to catch a glimpse of the new addition to the royal family, which is likely to happen at some point today – when Kate gave birth to Charlotte in May 2015, the timing was very similar and she debuted her little girl the same day.
