With PrinceHarry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding close on the horizon, the making of official and unofficial souvenirs is well underway! From household items decorated with the couple’s faces to delicious royal cookies to commemorative champagne flutes, there’s something for everyone – but there’s one keepsake that has caught everyone’s attention with its hefty price tag: PEZ dispensers! Luckily, they’re being auctioned for a good cause.

Nineties babies will definitely feel nostalgic over this one! The popular candy dispenser PEZ has released a one-of-a-kind collector set that bears a keen resemblance to the soon-to-be royal couple. Currently, the bidding is at $7,675 Canadian and there is still a full week left to watch the price tag climb. Who would spend that much money? Someone with a big heart, actually. All the proceeds go to towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a charitable organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.
And this isn’t the first time the candy company has commemorated a royal couple! They did the exact same thing back in 2011 for Prince William and Duchess Kate’s nuptials, which saw a lucky American bidder take home the royal candy dispensers for just about $14,000. The money was donated to the Starlight Children’s Foundation , which, similar to Make-A-Wish, organizes events for ill children and their families.
President and CEO of PEZ Candy, Inc., Christian Jegen, said in a statement: “Both PEZ and the Make-A-Wish Foundation have been bringing smiles to families for generations and PEZ is pleased to be able to contribute to Make-A-Wish and ensure more children’s dreams come true.” It’s safe to say that the ‘Fab Four’ would certainly be pleased about these souvenirs in particular, as they all enjoy giving back to initiatives that help young people. It’s an excellent opportunity to use a popular event to give back, while getting your hands on such a rare royal memento.
