Oprah jokes that she bribed Doria Ragland with kumquats and talks 'transformative' royal wedding

Oprah may be a global icon, but just like the rest of the world she's susceptible to a fairy tale - especially a modern-day version. Of the "transformative" experience of attending Prince Harry and Meghan's royal wedding in Windsor on May 19, the 64-year-old told Entertainment Tonight that, "It was more than a wedding" and that it was a "cultural moment." Oprah also dished on her date with the duchess's mom, Doria Ragland, who spent some time at the media mogul's home ahead of her daughter's big day - feasting on Kumquats and doing yoga.

Trading the beautiful blush dress she donned at the royal wedding - a tiered Stella McCartney confection with scalloped lace edges - for a navy sweater and full grey skirt, Oprah stunned on the pink carpet for her new OWN series, Love Is_, on Tuesday (June 11). But the historic occasion was still on her mind! "You could not be there or watching on television ... and not feel that there was a shift that just happened in the middle of it," she explained. "I think it's bigger than them and I think it bodes well for hope for all of us."

Ahead of the monumental royal moment, Oprah got up close and personal with Meghan's mom Doria Ragland, who was photographed leaving the A Wrinkle In Time star's Santa Barbara home with a gift basket in tow - and now she's revealed that it was filled with fruit! "She said, 'I love kumquats,' and I said, 'I have a kumquat tree! You want some kumquats?' So it was a basket of kumquats, people," Oprah explained. "For all of the people who said I am getting her gifts and I'm trying to bribe her for an interview -- they were kumquats. If kumquats can get you an interview, I’m all for it!"

And it seems like Oprah may have enjoyed one of Doria's famous yoga classes, which also got daughter Meghan hooked on the practice. "First of all, she's great at yoga, so I said, 'Bring your yoga mat and your sneaks in case we just want to do yoga on the lawn,'" Oprah revealed, further addressing reports that Doria had left her home laden with gifts. "So one of the bags was a yoga mat and the other was lunch."

Doria may now have British royalty in her family, but it sounds like she also has a talk show queen as a new friend and confidante.
